Audit and Evaluation How does your plant inspection organization compare to others in terms of safety, unscheduled shutdowns, training, use of NDT tools & instruments and overall effectiveness? These concerns are often not directly addressed. Only after an accident or "near miss" do such questions usually arise, during the subsequent investigation. NDTech has been involved in developing and conducting several "Inspector Effectiveness Audits" for major oil companies. These evaluations were requested to measure the actual inspector performance compared to both management's expectations and with competition's standing. A typical "Inspector Effectiveness Audit" involves evaluation of the following general areas:
Each of he above categories are broken down into specific components and evaluated. The audit involves a review of the inspection department's files, documents, and other reference material. Additional input needed for the evaluation is gained by discussions and interviews with inspection personnel and supervisors. Depending on the size and scope of the inspection section function, the onsite visit by an NDTech representative takes from three days to one week. Please contact us if you have any questions about having an audit of your inspection organization. |   |
