UT of Tube-to-Tubesheet Welds

A UT fixture was designed for detection of stress corrosion cracking in ferrous heat exchanger tube-to-tubesheet welds. This portable fixture was designed for in-situ, field application using a conventional pulse echo ultrasonic flaw detector. A captive, water coupled transducer configuration permits precise, reproducable "aiming" of the UT beam minimizing reception of undesired echoes.
